labada in thailand (a prologue)

My friends and i had already planned this sort of cheesy 30 something vacation trip. This is to remind ourselves that we have to do something grand and eventful on our 30th year. Yeah. It's a big deal for some of us because we want it to be since we're fixated in the 22-23 year old stage. And it was a surprise that suddenly we're 30. hahaha. So to mark the flight from that forever 22 year stage we had to do something and we looked forward to it. wala lang. Maarte lang talaga kami since we can't get over the fact that a decade has passed since our 20 something years.

we wanted to go to ibiza for this to party with brazilians and the rest of the world. Now why there? Heck we just want to party like hell where we don't know anyone and in a place we don't even know too. I guess that could be the last latch to that wild 20's stage. But ooops, reality check, we can't afford to do that right now... us being in a third world country and all the shiz that comes with it--- i don't want to go into that.

So the next best thing to that kind of party is the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan, Thailand.
And off we flew to Bangkok for this so called event. It's my first time to be in Thailand and this is what i found myself to be in the first day.

So much for the party eh? And my very bad posture.Ugh.

Now, it's just a big sin to do work while on vacation. I knew the consequences and i suffered it. It's not that i'm complaining but you know how the mind goes berserk when you're hyped to do nothing but still you have to insist there is something to be done? So i always had to check the time, the moment, and the internet connection available anywhere. I just can't say no and i don't really have that privilege to say no. Well, it's not like the vacation was hell for me. Good thing the hotel we had in Bangkok was one of the nicest ones---Holiday Inn Silom.

While i finish the finale of the show, I am comforted by the surroundings and that good things will happen in a few days more. Oh and one testament of a good thing to come is having a nice cold beer right after finishing something. Since there are no pale pilsens in this side of the country, I've found a new bestie in the loving arms of Singha beer.

Ah yes, nothing beats beer after a hard days work. It's a bittersweet reward for something i did that i felt i liked--all for a measly 40 baht. It's my tap on the back only that it's on the gut. Lakas lang maka-construction worker peg but hey it's my salvation and if given on a nice night with good friends over tom yum soup then that makes the beer priceless. This is a sign of the best stuff waiting for us and the beginning of that Thai adventure we never expected.
