up in the air
just saw Up in the Air on cable. i really like this film. not because of George Clooney. just the whole feel of it and the way the story plies out--- a man's mundane situation that could be better only to end up being the same way again but different. Film is also peppered with a lot of poking insights about life and loneliness.
I gravitate towards Vera Farmiga's character, Alex Goran. The fling. The grown up woman. The escape. The parenthesis. The one that made Ryan Bingham feel and escape the routine only to find out he's the escape. So tragic. She did have standards about life and companionship that i like and would definitely agree on. She could have been me, i guess.
Here's two about ideal men---
Back in the day, I've never had much thought on physical requirements but tall would be good and definitely not an asshole. We would have to mutually enjoy each other's company. Doesn't have to come from a good family though.
This is so true, i wish i had known this back then. It is a recipe for disaster. A nice smile and kind eyes will do. So good to wake up to someone with kind eyes. This man sounds so out there but nowhere in sight.
